How can this one phrase by a soldier in WWII(a fictional story) describe in your own life why history is important?

Government: In Gov we were looking at Chapter 1 section 1. We were looking at the preamble to the constitution and how it gives a framework for why we have government. Students had to define the 6 things and then rank them in importance in their option.
