Thursday 8/30

Sorry for the delayed post. I couldn't get the internet to work. For US history today we discussed yesterday's reading of why history. We then watched the end of Saving Private Ryan and answered the following question:
uThe Character Tom Hanks is playing, says as he dies to Matt Damon’s character(Private Ryan), “earn it.” In the final scene Damon recalls this line at the cemetery and how he feels he earned it during his life. How can this one phrase by a soldier in WWII(a fictional story) describe in your own life why history is important?
uPlease give me about a paragraph on what you think this line means and how it reflects why we look at history and how you have been given an opportunity to be here.

Government: In Gov we were looking at Chapter 1 section 1. We were looking at the preamble to the constitution and how it gives a framework for why we have government. Students had to define the 6 things and then rank them in importance in their option.
